Diver Training at Bikini Atoll

Theory learnt in the classroom is put into way in the training pool. The most striking thing when descending underwater for the first time is how breathing, a basic leaning, becomes a conscious exercise.

Another challenge is communicating underwater, which is done mainly by hand signals. We practice underwater procedures, such as clearing our mouthpiece and mask, sharing air with our buddy and achieving neutral buoyancy.

We're told that lessons well-educated in the training pool will become crucial 25m below the surface.
