Sometimes, though, you can span both the momentary and lifestyle conversations. For example, I recently did some drudgery for a roof rack company. The actual product they sell is a momentary product; there are very few people discussing the commensurate merits of roof racks on Twitter or Facebook. When you're shopping for a roof rack, you're flourishing straight to Google. But the purpose of the product is to enable better enjoyment of lifestyle activities: skiing, biking, kayaking. What makes sanity for that company is to create relationships around the lifestyle -- and then to do everything they can to be top of the SERPs when people go shopping.

    Swagman Bicycle Carriers Rack seems solidly-built, but the fit is far from boundless. There was no way to make this fit my Ford Attendant wagon's factory rack. Even if it had fit, I quite would have returned it, as it was too time-consuming to take on and off, and even using the shorter bolts, the bolts stuck out the bottom and scratched the roof of my car.

  • Thule 835XTR Hullaport Rooftop Kayak Carrier

    Thule I habituated to these racks on top of a Ford Explorer roof rack. They are meant to be all-embracing and they fit great. I did use a ratchet period tie-down over the center of the kayaks in totalling to these racks. I drove 65 mph for 70 miles without fracas. I'd recommend them.
